Attorney Laurence Haines North County San DiegoSan Diego Attorney Laurence F. Haines has practiced law in California since 1993. Mr. Haines operates a general law practice with a focus on business disputes, employment law, estate planning, personal injury, and probate administration and litigation.

Mr. Haines graduated from law school as his class valedictorian and summa cum laude in December 1992. He received his J.D. at Western State University College of Law in San Diego. He earned his B.S. from the University of the State of New York. He also holds two Associates degrees in History and Engineering from John Wood Community College located in Quincy, Illinois.

Mr. Haines enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1975 and served as a radio repairman on active duty for four years. Later, he enlisted in the Army Reserve as an M60A3 tank crew member. In 1986 he received a commission as an officer in the United States Army. He left military service in 1997 after serving as an Armor Officer in the California Army National Guard.

During law school, Mr. Haines was privileged to serve as an extern for the Honorable Patricia D. Benke at the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District and as an intern with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.

After taking the bar in February 1993, Mr. Haines was hired by Mower, Koeller, Nebeker, Carlson & Haluck as an Associate Attorney. Prior to starting HainesLaw in March 2006, Mr. Haines was hired by Grady & Associates as a trial attorney handling hundreds of employment related matters.

Mr. Haines has extensive trial experience having taken cases to jury verdicts in dozens of matters over the past twenty years and is well respected by his fellow attorneys for his trial skills. Mr. Haines teaches young lawyers trial and discovery techniques and is a sought after lecturer based upon his trial skills.

Mr. Haines is licensed to practice in California, the United States Courts in the Southern and Central Districts along with the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also participates in the American Inns of Court.
